This beautiful large black platter features a pretty teal motif with a speckled matt glaze and is finished with gold leaf detailing around the rim. The design is inspired by Lake Guatavita in the Colombian Andes, the location associated with the legend of El Dorado. A mythical tribal chief of the Muisca native people of Colombia, El Dorado covered himself with gold dust and submerged into Lake Guatavita as part of an initiation rite. The Guatavita tableware collection is handmade from high-fired fine stoneware and hand-decorated in Portugal.
