Each slate product is handcrafted in Scotland so irregularities on the surface & edges are to be expected and are a part of their natural charm.

Walnut oil may have been applied to these items as this has best viscosity to bring out the detail of the slate. If desired, good natural/olive oil may be rubbed on the surface of your slate in the future to bring back and enhance its natural contours.

Slate products should be wiped clean with a damp cloth.
