Fontodi Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil DOP Chianti Classico

The Fontodi estate is known for making exceptional Chianti Classico wine, as well as the finest in Tuscan extra virgin olive oil. Fontodi olive oil is made from Corregiolo and Frantoio olive groves. The olive trees grow beside Fontodi’s vines in the Conca d’Oro estate. With aromas of artichoke leaf and an elegant peppery flavour, this has a fragrant, lingering finish.

The olives are harvested by hand and gently pressed as soon as possible to retain maximum freshness and fragrance of the fruit. They are certified as organic.  The 2023 harvest was very poor in terms of quantity so availability is limited.

The oil is deep green in colour with a fresh aroma of olives, artichokes and aromatic herbs. On the palate it already has a good balance between bitter and spicy notes in the finish while maintaining a great freshness. Perfect for drizzling over spicy or pungent leaves like rocket and watercress or meaty pastas and robust soups. It is also great for dunking freshly baked white bread in.
