DESCRIPTION
The Colomba cake is the traditional Italian Easter cake, baked in the shape of a dove to signify peace and renewal. Never before have we so needed these cakes to gift at Easter time. The beautiful wrapping makes this Top-Line Colomba stand head and shoulders above most Chocolate Easter Eggs (except ours of course). Enjoy a slice of Colomba cake with a glass of wine, in true Italian style, or with a tea or coffee. Best served warm or at room temperature.
The Classic Colomba is obtained by natural leavening from sourdough and the basic ingredients are all fresh: free-range Italian eggs, milk, cream and mountain butter. Its dough is rich in juicy candied Sicilian orange peel and natural vanilla Mananara from Madagascar. The surface is covered with a fragrant italian almond glaze, decorated with whole almonds and granulated sugar. A perfect combination of italian pastry tradition, craftsmanship and excellent ingredientsmake Loison Colomba a perfect sweet to be enjoyed at Easter.
