Originating from the Veneto region of northern Italy, potato gnocchi is a rustic, hearty ingredient that can trace its roots back to Roman times. They are very easy to cook. Bring a large pan of salted water to the boil, add Gnocchi (straight from the pack). Drain as soon as they come to the surface (about 2 minutes) and serve hot with your favourite sauce. For an authentic Italian taste, serve with butter, sage and Parmesan or a classic tomato sauce with mozzarella.
