Panko Breadcrumbs, Kato Sangyo
230g of ready made coarsely chopped panko breadcrumbs. This dried, crispy, light bag of panko breadcrumbs is perfect for achieving that crispy cutlet crunch for items such as tonkatsu. It can also be used for making beef burgers, pasta-toppings and stuffing.
These crunchy, coarsely chopped breadcrumbs absorb less oil than other, stodgier varieties of breadcrumb, making for lighter mixes and crispier coatings. Use to crumb pork and chicken cutlets, to make beef burgers, or as a topping on pasta.
These are not like Western style breadcrumbs at all, and if a recipe requires them, do not try to substitute any other. They are large, light and give a crispness that cannot be duplicated.
