Limoncello di Sorrento 1875, Cassano

Cassano 1875 uses only the finest lemons, ripened under the hot Sorrento sun, producing an extraordinary perfume of fresh lemons, with the bitterness of the peel and a touch of sweetness.
Cassano 1875 is a well established, small artisanal producer of Limoncello, located in Sorrento, a small town close to Napoli and the island of Capri, which is famed for being home to the best producers of Limoncello. In around Sorrento there are over 50 producers of Limoncello but few of them have the IGP (Indicazione Geografica Protetta) certificate from the EU which guarantees the high quality offered by Cassano 1875.
This Limoncello is bright lemon yellow in colour, with an extraordinary perfume of fresh lemons. On the palate, it is powerful but perfectly balanced, with the bitterness of the lemon peel in equilibrium with the alcohol and a touch of sweetness. Clean and fresh on the finish. Limoncello can be stored in the freezer for drinking on its own, or drunk as a refreshing, long summer drink in mineral water, or as a dash in Prosecco it makes a delicious alternative to a Bellini.
