DESCRIPTION

Colomba Pasquale (Easter Dove) is a traditional Italian sweet yeast bread, serving as the spring counterpart to Christmas panettone. Its dove shape symbolises peace and renewal. It is a naturally leavened cake with a fluffy texture, made with flour, eggs, butter, and candied orange peel, though often with no raisins, unlike panettone. This variation substitutes raisins for those who don't like candied peels. It is topped with a sugary glaze with crunchy pearl sugar and almonds. 

Our Filippi classic colomba is an authentic synthesis of tradition and finest selected ingredients. Starting with the 72-hour sour dough production process, butter, flour, eggs and vanilla pods are expertly mixed to form the irregular crumb typical of natural leavening. Outside a rich icing made with quality almonds, sugar and fresh egg white and inside a soft heart sweetened by lots of selected raisins. Each colomba is hand-wrapped with opaque velvety printed paper and softened by an elegant grosgrain ribbon with gold brand marks.
